Hello

I design toys for kids aged 0 to 8, and I've shipped 25 of them over 9 years, about 2M units sold in total. My preschool line is on shelves in 12 countries, and every single product passed EN 71 and ASTM F963 on the first submission. I still test choking hazards with the same battered small-parts cylinder I bought in 2017.

Experience

Lead Toy Designer

Tucano Brinquedos 2021–present
  • Created and now lead the Mini Mundo preschool line: 8 SKUs, distributed in 12 countries, 1.1M units sold since launch in 2022.
  • Cut mold tooling cost 18% on 5 products by consolidating parts into shared cores with our factory in Manaus.
  • Run a 4-person design team; every release since 2021 cleared EN 71-1/-2/-3 and ASTM F963 on first-round lab testing.

Toy Designer

Fabrica Pipoca 2017–2021
  • Designed 14 shipped toys across bath, stacking, and pull-along categories; 3 exceeded 100k units each.
  • Built a play-testing panel of 60 families in Sao Paulo; sessions caught 9 usability failures before tooling.
  • Reduced average part count per toy from 21 to 13, which dropped assembly rejects at the line by 31%.
