Abstract

I have spent 14 years at reference desks, the last 9 in the Boston Public Library system. I built a local-history digitization program that has scanned and cataloged 90,000 items, from ward maps to streetcar timetables. I answer about 30 reference questions a day and still keep a paper log of the strange ones.
