I design denim from the fabric up, and I have shipped 40+ styles a year across three seasonal drops. Most of my last four years went into a raw-selvedge line that sold through 9,000 units in its first run. I fit garments on real bodies, not just mannequins, and I keep a fabric library of 220 mill swatches at my desk. I also still hem my own jeans, badly.
