01 Sampler note

I design counted cross-stitch patterns and I have published 214 of them over 9 years. My charts sell through 3 online shops and a print catalog, with about 6,800 downloads a year. I test every pattern by stitching it myself first, which is slow and the main reason I keep a very large basket of half-finished samplers.

Wrote and published 214 counted cross-stitch charts, from 40-stitch minis to a 320 x 240 stitch heirloom band sampler.
Grew the pattern shop to 4,100 repeat buyers and a monthly average of 570 sales across Etsy, Payhip, and my own site.
Built a color-conversion sheet mapping 480 DMC floss numbers to 3 competitor brands, cutting customer substitution questions by roughly 60%.

Design Contributor, Blue Ridge Needle Quarterly

2016 – 2021 · remote

Contributed 1 chart per issue for 20 issues, each fitting a 6 x 8 inch finished frame on 14-count aida.
Ran the reader stitch-along column, which drew 340 mailed-in photos over 5 years.

Kit Assembler & Sales Clerk, Thimble & Thread Shop

2014 – 2018 · Asheville

Packed 90 to 120 beginner sampler kits a week and wrote the 1-page instruction insert used in all of them.
Taught a Saturday intro class of 8 to 12 students, keeping a 4.8 of 5 average across 130 written reviews.
