Scope and content note

I have managed corporate records and archives for 14 years, most recently a collection of 2.1 linear kilometres across two repositories. I write retention schedules that legal departments actually sign, and I have digitised roughly 480,000 pages without losing a single original. Condition of the archivist: stable, minor foxing.

Condition: Good. Backlog reduced; humidity incidents: 0 since 2021.
Location: Repository 2, Waalhaven depot, rows 14–31.

Cut an 11-year processing backlog from 620 to 40 linear metres in 4 years with a team of 5.
Led the migration of 480,000 scanned pages into a new digital repository with a verified checksum failure rate of 0.002%.
Rewrote the corporate retention schedule covering 212 record types; destruction sign-off time dropped from 6 weeks to 9 days.

ACC 2015.008 Senior Records Manager · Verwey & Damen Assurantiën, The Hague 2015 – 2019

Provenance: Recruited to build a records programme after a merger of 3 insurance firms.
Condition: Received in disorder; 3 incompatible filing systems on arrival.
Location: Formerly basement B, Prinsegracht office. Do not ask about basement B.

Consolidated 3 legacy filing systems into 1 classification scheme covering 96,000 policy dossiers.
Ran the GDPR readiness inventory in 2017–2018: 1,850 personal-data record series mapped and dispositioned.
Trained 140 staff in registry procedure across 4 office locations.

ACC 2012.014 Assistant Archivist · Stichting Maasoever Erfgoed, Rotterdam 2012 – 2015

Provenance: First professional post after traineeship; heritage foundation for port-industry records.
Condition: Fair. Extensive water damage in accession 2013.002, since stabilised.
Location: Repository 1, cold store, bay 3.

Processed 85 linear metres of shipyard personnel and wage records, 1911–1978, to item level.
Rehoused 12,000 glass-plate negatives into four-flap enclosures; loss during rehousing: 0.
