Notes from the Grower
I have designed and planted gardens across the Kent Weald for 14 years, from cottage borders to a 3-acre walled garden restoration. I run a team of four and keep a small trial bed of 60-odd perennial varieties behind the shed, mostly to settle arguments about what actually survives our clay. All stock listed below is hardy, true to name, and lifted fresh.

Built the practice from a single van to a crew of 4, holding 42 maintenance clients and 6 to 8 design builds a year.
Led the 3-year restoration of the walled garden at Hatchmere Court: 1,800 plants set, 90 m of box hedge replaced with Euonymus after blight.
Kept annual plant losses under 4% by growing on 70% of stock in our own cold frames before planting out.
Senior Gardener
2014–2018
Pellingford Estate Gardens · near Tenterden, Kent
Second of a staff of 6 across 11 acres of formal and kitchen garden open to visitors 5 days a week.
Ran the glasshouse programme: 4,000 bedding plants and 300 dahlias raised each spring on a budget of £2,600.
Re-trained 60 m of century-old espaliered pears; cropping doubled within 2 seasons.
Gardener, then Chargehand
2011–2014
