I have run boundary and construction surveys in Gallatin County for 16 years, closing an average of 85 parcels a year. My retracement work holds a mathematical closure better than 1:15,000 on every filed plat, and I have had 2 surveys challenged and 0 overturned. Thence N45°E 120 ft to the corner where I also teach the county recorder's staff to read the old chain-and-compass deeds, which is roughly half archaeology.
