I plan train paths and platform workings for a mixed passenger and freight region covering 640 route miles. Over 9 years I have rebuilt three December timetable changes end to end, and the last one cut reactionary delay on the York throat by 14 per cent. I keep a working Bradshaw on my desk mainly for the footnotes.
